The Detroit Museum of Art sparked Detroits fine arts when it opened in 1888 with a huge collection of paintings from all over the world. In 1960 it was demolished for a highway intersection on I-375.

The Palomar Ballroom, Los Angeles, Ca. (1925-1939) Boasting itself as “the largest and most famous dance hall on the West Coast”, this popular night spot, formerly known as the El Patio Ballroom and Rainbow Gardens, was located at 245 S. Vermont Avenue, until it burnt to the ground in 1939.
