In all seriousness, this sub gives plenty of food for thought regarding the benefits of ‘economic growth’ and ‘progress.’ In the ’60s there was some kind of mass hysteria that caused us to forget the value of our lived spaces. Today we are seeing that exact same mindset. Growth was necessary to build the beautiful cities that we have/had. Once that objective has been accomplished, we have to make the difficult transition to a sustainable economy where we enjoy the objects of our creation instead of tear them down.
