

120 William Street, the last building extant from when New York City was a Dutch colony called New Amsterdam. Built in the 1600s, it was finally demolished in the mid-1800s.

Old Yongsan Station in Seoul, Korea, destroyed during the Korean War. The striking building was constructed using unusual German-style timber framin. Yongsan Station still serves as Seoul’s secondary railway station after Seoul Station (whose occupation-era headhouse remains standing to this day).

The Old Seoul Post Office, destroyed during the Korean War in the early 1950s. Its replacement in the exact same spot is an eyesore and widely cited as the ugliest building in Seoul. However, surviving historical colonial and protectorate-era buildings remain standing in the same neighborhood.
