Source Dutch department store “De Bijenkorf” in Rotterdam, built in 1930 by W. Dudok, famous Dutch architect. Most of the building was destroyed during the 1940 bombings of Rotterdam while the remaining parts were torn down in 1960.

Source Hotel Kaiserhof in Berlin. Constructed in 1876, it was the first Berlin hotel in which every room had an electricity supply, its own bathroom and its own telephone. The hotel also featured steam heating, pneumatic elevators/lifts. The kitchens used gas cookers.
