YWCA Building, Springfield, MA. 1907-2016. Demolished to make way for the MGM a Springfield Hotel & Casino. Stone elements were salvaged and the facade was recreated, with alterations, facing the courtyard.
Unrelated but I visited Massachusetts for the first time earlier this year (mostly Boston and Salem) and I absolutely adored the architecture. It was a nice change of pace from the cookie cutter McMansions we have here in Texas. Even the way Boston was set up felt a lot nicer than Dallas/Fort Worth.

While I ache for the loss of that beautiful building, the fact that an institution dedicated to Christian fellowship, social justice, and healthy living was torn down to make way for a massive hive of vice and iniquity makes me fear even more for the future of our society.

Lost New England blog post on this building, including a photo from 1910.

No way! They took that down for the MGM? My husband will be shocked.
Are you doing a Springfield binge? The MGM must have taken quite a bit down.
