Hard to tell from this photo, but it looks like that tree is growing out in the seam between the piano balcony and the pillar holding up the lid. That’s a ticking time bomb if true.

I always see this in Chinese buildings – they have this cool idea, they do it and the actual result is so shoddy and half-arsed and unfinished-looking. That roof…with the piano lid as a natural awning, it should be a wooden deck, it should have seating, a bar, light wells, it should interact with the interior; in fact it looks literally abandoned, like someone got 90% through building and then ran out of money and the builders just walked away. The windows should be seamlessly integrated into the facade, or at the very least not have white frames. The entire violin section is unnecessary, as they could have used the piano pedals as a stairwell or even better an elevator.
Such dreadful execution of something that actually isn’t a bad idea at all. It’s sad.
