Last summer I started building my log cabin from extra-thick logs. A lot of the tall trees here were downed by a severe storm a few years ago. So, I decided to reclaim those 15 inch (40 cm) logs. This summer the cabin’s construction is almost complete but my summer vacation is over and I will have to finish building the roof next season. Frankly, I thought I would be fully done this season and looking back I’ll say this: I could have built two cabins had I used skinny logs in their construction.
that family of old believers, have you seen their cabin? this looks so much alike to it but better.
what are you gonna grow on the roof?

Swede here – so amazed by this cottage! I’ve seen your posts and it just makes me so happy. And btw – I lived in Georgia for two years, and a lot of russians were, well, not so nice to the locals. But I never once met a spb-person who wasn’t just amazingly kind and funny! Whatever you put in your water over there, keep putting it in there.

Where did you learn the skill of building log cabins? Are you self taught? Any previous experience? How would you recommend to start to someone who knows nothing?
