« Château de Chenonceau is my favourite French château. It was built in 1514–1522 on the foundations of an old mill and was later extended to span the river. The bridge over the river was built (1556-1559) by French Renaissance architect Philibert de l’Orme.

That round tower in the water, whats its purpose?

I had dinner here a few years ago. That super out-of-place looking glass cube structure is a restaurant.

From the outside, the restaurant looks a little… out of place, but I’ll be damned if it wasn’t the most memorable meal I’ve ever had.

Dibs on the cool on the water bedroom!

I wonder what the point of having that little tower in the water was for.

The self-guided tour there is only 10 Frank, and you can take your time and explore every bit of the castle and its grounds. I think the little water tower is a 19th century addition after the building was finished in the romantic style its in now
