Let’s check the state-of-the-art thermostat so we don’t get too cold. https://postimg.cc/S2c0bSj412: I’ll light a fire. It’s a masonry stove from Finland, made of thousands of pounds of soapstone. https://postimg.cc/PpbtzzW113: It’s also my bake-oven. https://postimg.cc/n916M3vw14: This is my rifle. I live here year round. The cabin/ski lodge is in the center of 130+ acres of land (bigger than the Vatican, smaller than Monaco), which border many more acres of state land (bigger than Monaco). The building is at an elevation of 5500 feet. I work in town. I cross-country ski down to my truck every day and back up at night. I have running water (piped underground from a spring on the ridge), wood heat, and solar (fully off grid). Hot water is for pansies (but I’ll probably get a water heater if I settle down with someone / have kids).

So the only thing to sit on is the toilet? Are you anti-furniture?

I couldn’t really tell in the pic, but is that ICF, aircrete, or just normal cement?

    This is really amazing!

The first thing I thought of is security (may be my cityslicker ignorance). Do you ever see strangers on your land, or even close to your lodge. What’s the etiquette in those situations?

Second question, what happens if you encounter a bear/cougar during your skiing commute?

edit: Your youtube links are on point. I’ll take one if you don’t mind. Thanks in advance.

I love the idea od a concrete ski lodge or cabin. Sounds like it’d be very low maintenance.
