Hotel Wolverine, Detroit MI, 1921-1997, A former home for many ballplayers for the Detroit Tigers as well as the Tropics nightclub. Ironically demolished for Comerica Park’s parking lot.
My grandmother’s generation went from this Detroit to the Detroit of the late eighties. She never mentioned the crumbling city, but it must have broke her heart.

It always brings me so much sadness to see Detroit mentioned in this sub so often. We’ve always had such beautiful architecture, but so few buildings have been saved.
