    The land is crazy cheap out there. San Luis Valley is one of the most impoverished areas of Colorado. That specific ranch is just north of highway 160 between Blanca and Alamosa. I drive by it every time I go visit my 5 acre plot nearby.

    You can get Land there cheap. With utilities that is much harder to find. If you use solar for electricity, water is really an issue.

    The only thing I would want is some huge shade trees to help cool the cabin in the summer since the summer sun can be intense.
