Might be nostalgia talking but I love how they looked

I had no idea they weren’t even 30 years old,for some reason I assumed they had been up longer than that.

The design was neither liked or disliked really. My dad liked them, but prob because he was in the coast guard and flew his chopper around the area. He has pics of them as they were being built. They were a big part of the skyline and for me was crushing to see them gone from it.

Skyline will never be the same. These towers themselves was NYC’s logo for a long time.

I used to live not too far from there in the 90s. There was this plaza right between the two. It had this silly globe in the middle. And you could lie down (on the weekend or at night as the area was completely abandoned after working hours) and it looked like the they went on forever.

Anyone know what happened to that little tower at the base of the left one? Seems awful close for comfort.

I always wished I made it to NYC before 2001 to see them. I feel like the observation deck would have been amazing. I suppose there’s alway the new tower’s observation deck.
