    Before my time (barely) but I think it was the West End and not West Boston, as opposed to East Boston

    no!!!!!, that’s not ‘west?" Boston really !! you probably meant the west end, lol but not even close.. but rather scollay square looking from cornhill towards Hanover st and beyond is bowdoin square around the curve
