Villa Hållnäs in Sundsvall, Sweden, was constructed in 1883 by a local dentist who named it after the town where his father was a dean. It was well-preserved and in good condition when it was acquired by eminent domain in 2015, and was ultimately demolished this month.
Here is an article in swedish about the building but Google Translate should suffice. The entire area Petersvik is currently being leveled down for a logistic park which most likely will be to no avail. Everything is being done with regards to the local paper plants and the city’s prognosis is that the investment will eventually pay back, but only in 2057. Everyone can see why that is not how you spend money.

Kind of place you could dismantle and reassemble elsewhere

Very, very sad. The Swedes should be appalled.

Pay back in Payback 2057 makes little sense when it comes to architecture of historic and cultural value. Why did they really do that?
