Partially remembered Factoid taken from a 60’s era decorative trash can I used to own, at the time of the garbage cans creation, Ohio was home to six of the top 20 ? populated cities in the USA. Used to be a lot busier place. I guess advent of the air conditioner and degradation of the steel /automotive industry contributed to the decline.

I grew up in Garrettsville, Ohio. The buildings were largely century+ old.
I’ve been away for over a decade, and recently a fire took out most of the village.
So much history lost, and I’ll never see my home town the way it was ever again.
This pic reminds me of the way it used to be. Bittersweet. ?

I really love that clear and sharp design, but still lovely and playful, not like classicism!
Is it beginning of second empire, with victorian influence?

I’m not gonna pretend that the 1910s were a great time to be alive, but damn I wish American cities still looked like this
