How do these cabins work in the states. Do people own big lots of empty land and then build their cabin there? Or are they in public forest hidden away?

You might be able to build this in a couple weeks.
To boot it might fix problems like cold air drafts and leaky roofs 🙂
The solar panels would be stolen in short order unless you had security watching over your assets 🙁
