When was this built? The humanities building at my university was similarly made up of different wings and angles. I always heard it was because the building was constructed in the 70s and the intention was to prevent big open spaces for student gatherings (due to the different social movements at the time–communists, etc). I always found that interesting.

I think It’s more bizarre when you have to find your way to particular rooms in it.
You think you have it figured out and then you have a class in another section of the building that looks super close on the map. You think to yourself, “How difficult could this be? I can follow a map.” There aren’t that many maps around though. And quite a few doors that are locked. This was all supposedly by design to at least some extent so that people would have to talk to others to find their way around.
I also think the name might make more sense when you’re there. Not perfect sense but more sense. I might come back to this and elaborate.
Supposedly it was made to look like California from above. Other pics give a better idea of that.
Also, it has a tower-thing that has wonderful views of Davis. Since Davis is super flat, it’s one of the few places to actually get a view like that. Closest thing to a hill.
And there’s a transluscent, aqua bridge between the tower and another part of the building. The floor is grated which scares me but I haven’t seen anyone else have an issue with that. Lol

Heyyyyyy this is my town! It’s so weird seeing this on here! This building looks cool from the outside but is extremely difficult to navigate on the inside. Good luck not getting lost

On the tower in the far upper left of this picture if you go up to the very top floor/roof there’s some cool graffiti

A friend of mine ran the Nerf club and they used this building. I hate it for every other reason.
