Lol I’ve passed by this before. It’s a major road junction. There’s also another building not shown in this photo that looks like a dog. It’s a gift shop plus an information centre. NZ towns like to highlight their characteristics, Tirau is a major farming town, hence the sheep. Matamata’s information centre looks like an inn from LOtR because that’s where Hobbiton is.
