    Did it get bombarded by the nazis or what?!! This would have been a rather plausible excuse at least. So sad.

    I’m baffled by how long buildings last in some places in America, how can people outlive the buildings around them with 30 years to spare? I see buildings as permanent here in the UK, but obviously that wasn’t the case in the first half of the 20th century in the USA.
