   I was hoping this story would be inappropriate for this sub when I first saw it. A major tragedy. I’m reading that the main spire has collapsed at this point.

   My mum called me into the living room to see it on the news. It’s fucking devastating I just hope to god they can replicate the majesty that was that cathedral in the years to come. But do the skills necessary for such woodworking, stonemasonry, stained glass, etc. even still exist? Such a tragic loss 🙁

   None of the towers have collapsed, the roof has burned, collapsed, and left a stone shell. The stone towers housing the bells are mostly fine
