It’s weird seeing Italy on this sub. Even though this is a great loss, the sheer density of beautiful, historic buildings in Italy (with an architectural heritage literally spanning thousands of years) is immense. If something like this was lost in my city, it would be that much worse. At least Sicily is still beautiful.

I think my mind is eased that this was destroyed by an act of nature, rather than wanton human vandalism.
