The Fountain Inn stood on Light Street for nearly 100 years, and was a favorite spot for George Washington, and even reviewed the Maryland Militia on the steps of the building.
wow that lot has some history. i wish the second one stayed , so beautiful. the new building is nice, but the random corner that is a bit more classic seems out of place next to all the glass..

Thomas Jefferson also stopped here unannounced in 1808, but was turned away due to not having any room.
Replaced by the Carrollton Hotel, which later burned down in the 1904 fire.
The Southern Hotel would later go up after that.
