The first stock exchange by architect Hendrick de Keyser opened its doors in Amsterdam in 1611 on an enormous arch over the canal ‘Rokin’. Not long after the first company share was invented by the Dutch East India company. Demolished 1884.

This is not the first stock exchange. Ter Ouder Buerse in Bruges was the first stock exchange, originally exploited as an inn by the Van Der Buersen family, it became the first stock exchange in the world. It was very succesfull because of the presence of all kinds of traders and bankers of the international community in Bruges during the Middle Ages, as it was along with Ghent the biggest city above the Alps.
Ah, yes, the Dutch East India Company; the Devil incarnate. Invented stock shares, did they? Lovely.

Not sure where you got the 1884 date from. The building was torn down in 1836-37. The stock exchange which replaced it in 1845 was in turn demolished in 1903.
