The Ericsson Globe – or Globen – in Stockholm is the world’s largest spherical building. It was designed by Berg Arkitektkontor, opened in 1989 and has a diameter of 110 metres and a ceiling height of 85 metres.

    I saw it when I visited Stockholm in 2002 — fantastic city! Globen looks smaller in person, to be honest. But it’s big enough to host concerts and pro hockey games.

    Man I was hoping this was a biosphere and those people have been there since the 80s without being outside. Imagine that, no influence from the outside world.
