  5. What happened to screened-in porches? I feel like I grew up with them – especially when we’d trip to Maine & they’re definitely still around in Maine – but these days I see them so rarely.

    Is there something about them that makes them degrade easily over time or something?

    A cool alternative I’ve seen is a giant fan over the porch/deck that creates breezes strong enough that mosquitos can’t comfortably fly around & bite ya…

    I built a 14 foot long porch on my cabin that is covered to become a solarium in winter and my outdoor living room all year. Also a good place to store the genny so it stays warmer to start.
