    I can see that sometimes the distinction between a castle and a palace isn’t always clear, but to me this falls squarely on the palace side of the line – it’s a very nice old building but there’s no visible fortifications of any kind. I might be missing something though?

    I’m pretty disappointed with how the United States government is maintaining it. Their embassies are usually nice. Why are all of the windows boarded up? Not only that, but in an inconsistent and half-assed manner?

    It looks like somebody brought their kids and told them to board up the windows.

    A shame for such an otherwise beautiful building. Has to be valuable, valuable enough to warrant actual care.
