    Fun fact – whatever was not destroyed by the Nazis, was finished by the post-war planners. The main church of the city- Sint-Laurenskerk – was also scheduled to be torn down despite the outcry, but the intervention of Queen Wilhelmina helped to save it. This Dutch article showcases the zeal with which they demolished the old town.

    These pictures make me so damn sad. Rotterdam truly was such a beautiful place. It looks cool now in some places, but it really isn’t the same.
