I’m American, visited in my early 20’s. It is magical there. I climbed up into an arrow slit in the wall & felt like I was hundreds of years away … the memory always makes me smile.

Fark! I’d love to live there. Except I’m Australian and would crave some good hot sunny summer days after a couple of years!

My wife and I were there some years back. Driving in, the road is just meandering around some hills and farm houses. It is bit out of the way, and we were taking out time. Then we round the bend and see this massive structure just jutting from the rural landscape. "Whelp, should be it…"

Heres a photo from the side of the road. It had some scaffolding at the time.
