Reconstruction of a stockade patterned after Fort Nashborough, Nashville / built in the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps, demolished after damage from the 2010 Tennessee floods.
This really sucks. I’ve never heard of it before, but this is our history and I personally think it is critical to protect these sorts of things for posterity. We really need to get a grip on our politics and start protecting our wealth (in all forms) and society from the environment.
Don’t call it climate change if you don’t want to. As human beings we have built seawalls, damns, and moved entire sites to more ideal locations to protect us. Our technology is exponentially more advanced and our wealth is exponentially more than it was. This is something we need to do for vulnerable sites. Because having this around is literally priceless.

Fun fact: this reconstruction is not on the site of the original fort. The original was in the sulfur dell area where the Nashville Sounds stadium is today.
