To celebrate this great achievement in a proper way, /r/castles is throwing a medieval feast for the next 24 hours. Everyone is invited to take a seat and grab some food and ale.

Is that Neuwanstein twice?

If I’m not mistaken:
Top image: Eilean Donan (13th century castle in Scotland).
Row 2: Neuschwanstein (19th century palace in Germany), Masada (I think – 1st century fortress in Israel), Oberhofen Castle (13th century castle in Switzerland).
Row 3: Mont-Saint-Michel (fortified town in France), Garibaldi Castle (modern building in Russia), Hohenzollern Castle (19th century palace in Germany, built on the ruins of 11th and 13th century castles)
Row 4: Himeji Castle Castle (14th century castle in Japan), Château de Pierrefonds (14th century castle in France, rebuilt as a palace in the 19th century), and what appears to be excellent 11th century Western European keep design.
So, 4.5 images of true castles (I’m giving Château de Pierrefonds full credit, Hohenzollern half credit for the extensive renovations), one drawing of a true castle, and four things that are very pretty but not actually castles (Neuschwanstein, Masada, Mont-Saint-Michel, Garibaldi).

Honestly, a better ratio than I expected.
