Poland Spring House hotel, Poland, ME. Built in 1876, it was expanded and adapted for decades afterward, well into the 20th century. As tastes changed it lost favor among lodgers, and was subsequently used by the Job Corps and as a transcendental meditation center before burning down in 1975.
