    If it had survived it could have been transformed into a cool set of townhomes. I’ve had people around me bemoan things like that but I appreciate when old structures find new life.

    The YMCA building that replaced it was built in 1923, so it was likely torn down around then. FYI, the replacement building was just sold in auction last year.

    Reminds me of The Old Red Gym at UW Madison, which was built around the same time. History and a few more pictures can be found at that site. Go Bucky!
