This is one of the charming architectural contributions of the deep south. Where would America be without them??

Haha my family always used this as a landmark on roadtrips. We live a bit north of it and it’s positioned in a way that we only see it when we’re taking a trip anywhere south. Like on the way back, all us kids would be half asleep in the back of the car and our parents would tell us we passed the peach and we knew we were almost home.

I’m from New York. My dad and I were driving to Atlanta back in the 80s when we see a sign that said something like:
TO VIEW PEACH
USE EXIT 91
We had no idea what that meant… until we saw it off in the distance. We stopped, took pictures, chatted with locals. I will never forget it.
"It’s a peach."
"Yup."

Ah, on family road trips my dad would always yell "There’s Bertha’s Butt!" And my mom would scoff and us kids would lose our shit. Dunno why he named it Bertha. Memories
