    Im glad its still standing, so much in Palmyra didnt survive Daesh.

    I bet it was a kickass castle back in the day with the dry mote, walls and being on a hill!

    When was this built?

    I’m guessing long after Palmyra was a major power and stood as a bulwark between Rome and Persia.
