    Sorry for my ignorance, but most of the coastal forts/castles in India seem to be on the western coast (Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala, etc), at least the ones I’ve seen on this sub. Are there any major coastal fortifications on the East coast?

    This island fort was constructed by the Marathas to counter the Siddis of Janjira fort and is within visual range of that fort.
