One of the gates of City Palace, Udaipur (Rajasthan), India. Iron spikes were placed on the gate at the height of elephant’s head to deter them from breaking open the gates.

    Painted the dome of the first gatehouse is a grand picture of lord Krishna in raas Lila. One of the most beautiful works I have ever seen. Infront of that gate is the ancient painting of lord Ganesh. The door seen after this gate is that gatehouse

    Wow when was this palace built? That would suggest that elephants breaking down castle gates were a real concern! That’s fucken epic!
