    If you think that’s big you should see the statues inside it, especially the main one of buddha.
    Absolutely beautiful in person.

    Went there a few years ago. Was indeed huge and the Buddha statue inside is enormous.

    Had to google, as I didn’t think that would be “one of largest wooden structures”.

    There are much bigger ones…

    But I was impressed by Kizhi Pogost – apparently the largest one made only of wood

    Heard they just finished the restoration that’s been going on for a few years including when I went. Can’t wait to go back, Japan is beautiful and their reverence for traditional structures and art and ceremonies is so awesome.
