    Wild that it lasted ~160 years just sitting abandoned. Would’ve been a fun exploration in the 70s before it went down.

    In a twist, a brick Carnegie library
    In our town was torn down in the 60’s
    and the bricks used to build a police station.

    I’m surprised that happened in the 1980s, esp. in Virginia, which tends to value (indeed, extol) its history. Was the building assessed for restoration and deemed unsuitable?
