Old England Department Store, Paul Saintenoy, Brussels [2449 x 4480] [Art Nouveau]

| Architecture |

« Oystermouth Castle, near Swansea, Wales. A Norman Castle on the edge of the Gower Peninsula overlooking Swansea Bay. Built in the 12th century and abandoned by 1650. The large window you can see at the top of the tower was once where the Castle’s Chapel was located.
My Montana cabin from behind. I’ve got many more pics of the view, from the front and inside. »

Sublimely delicate steel structure, large expanses of glass and thin mullions. Wonderful organic finials and natural elements all while prescient of the glass buildings coming in America as part of the modernist movement.

The little side element/cupola is so interesting. Currently a museum for musical instruments . ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Musical_Instrument_Museum_(Brussels) )

I’d be scared to enter it, looks like it can collapse in on itself it looks so delicate….

But it’s beautiful. My brain just likes to point out terrible things to me for some reason.

It looks so delicate, its almost like it’s a model than a building.
