    Wow. Why would someone tear down a building this nice? As a former Michigander, it bothers me to know this used to exist and doesn’t anymore.

    Stuff like this makes me want to find the landfill they dumped this in to see if I can find any of that old ornamental cast iron. Gorgeous stuff.

    All the materials used to build are often spilled when a building is demolished too soon. It’s a disgrace to nature as well.

    The current Detroit library is nice, don’t get me wrong. But to lose this amazing gem!!?
    So sad.
