The man was born in 1777, placing the cabin’s construction around 1800. My 4th Great Grandfather was born inside in 1825. The cabin was moved from it’s original location around 1900 to where it resides today. It remains in family hands and it’s very lively around dinner-time on Thanksgiving.

Oh yeah! My great-grandfather, who I remember from my childhood, was born in Rockingham County in 1884. He moved east, all the way to Pelham, where I remember the family tobacco farm. He had a gold spitoon, and his wife would *snort* snuff – powdered tobacco.

Wow this is awesome. I’m from stokes county and see these all over.
My grandparents actually have an old tobacco barn on their property I would play in and explore in when I was younger
