Probably one of the ugliest things in the city. Riga is a gorgeous city with great architecture, unforutnately everything built under the soviets was shit and since the fall of the USSR our dear modern architects have been working their “magic” on the city as well.
For example, the house of the blackheads (rebuilt after the fall) is a gorgeous building, too bad a horrdily ugly museum and hotel are being built right next to it…

House of the Blackheads was very nice. From the Latvians I spoke to it seemed like the general consensus was that corruption played a big part when it came to which projects got the go-ahead and which ones didn’t.
