All the column chat on another post reminded me of this wonder of interior decoration.
The building’s interior features massive 75-foot-tall Corinthian columns, some of the largest interior columns in the world. On the red brick exterior is a glorious 1,200-foot terra cotta frieze depicting Union soldiers.

One of my favorite buildings. Originally the Pension Bureau, and the massive atrium reminds me of the old post office. I’ve seen a couple of interesting exhibits here, but the main exhibit is the building itself!
