I came across this bank building randomly. The lines and materials were peculiar and bold; it was like a spaceship but without the campy flair of Googie architecture, its age not easily discernible. Does anybody know who designed it or when it was built? When I took the photo (2016) it was a Chase branch, and some internet sleuthing revealed that it was previously a branch for Texas Commerce Bank. If the webs don’t lie, the lot is currently under contract and I suspect it will be razed for an apartment or office tower.
