Kronborg Castle in Helsingør, Denmark is a UNESCO World Heritage site as one of the most important Renaissance castles in Northern Europe. It is also known as Elsinore Castle in William Shakespeare’s play Hamlet.

    Apparently the Danes are still salty about the fountain missing from the courtyard of this place.

    This makes the opening scene with the ghost make a lot more sense to me now

    You can actually see actors playing out most scenes throughout the day inside the castle. Probably the best way of seeing Hamlet one could hope for!
