Karlstejn Castle, Czech Republic. Apparently during a siege in the 1400s dead bodies and faeces were catapulted over the walls to demoralise the defenders and to spread disease – an early example of biological warfare.

    Dead bodies were actually catapulted over walls far earlier, even in ancient times. So I wouldn’t really call it an ‘early’ example.
