Forgot to put the date it the title. The synagogue was personally blown up by SS-Gruppenführer Jürgen Stroop on 16 May 1943, which was the last act of destruction of the Jewish ghetto in Warsaw by the Germans.

When I was in Warsaw, I went to the Uprising museum (great museum if you’re ever in the area). I had always thought that the Germans dropped bombs on the city from the air to level it. I was shocked to learn that they instead went block by block with explosives systematically destroying one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. Fucking unreal hateful shit.
