Couldn’t find exact dates on this unfortunately.

    [article](https://historicindianapolis.com/indianapolis-then-and-now-national-surgical-institute-imperial-hotel-northwest-corner-of-w-ohio-street-and-capitol-avenue/) about the building’s history.

I think that site might make you register. For those that don’t want to do that here’s the [picture of the site today](https://i.imgur.com/SXPabod.jpg)

The [article](https://historicindianapolis.com/indianapolis-then-and-now-national-surgical-institute-imperial-hotel-northwest-corner-of-w-ohio-street-and-capitol-avenue/) shared by u/sussoutthemoon in the top comment suggests this building did not receive much love while it existed. Looking at this photo, that feels criminal.

Would be curious if more people might have appreciated it had they chosen a different color of brick. I could see the [light gray/white brickwork](https://historicindianapolis.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/rooseveltmetropoleimperialhotel.jpg) as less than ideal to passers-by.
