I couldn’t really find any Transilvanian castles in this sub, so here you are: The Castle of Vajdahunyad, the place where Count Vlad Tepes lived.
Yezdigerd says Well “lived” seems kinda misleading, Vlad was kept prisoner there. It’s funny that he is associated with Vajdahunyad and Bran, when he actually did have a pretty cool castle of his own. Poenari https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o4tW77hdL9k
melegka says Tepes did not live here, it was after his time. The Hunyadi family lived here. Most of Tepes’ residences are ruins.
melegka says Vlad was imprisoned at Visegrág, more or less modern day Budapest. Just outside the city.
Pepisaverage says To note, the castle has several names… ‘Corvin Castle, also known as Hunyadi Castle or Hunedoara Castle’ ‘Romanian: Castelul Huniazilor or Castelul Corvinilor; Hungarian: Vajdahunyadi vár’ https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corvin_Castle Obviously Hunyadi refers to the great Hungarian statesman. I presume Vajda means castle?
