My favorite castle in Germany has to be the Castle of Bavaria, on the Würtemberg Plateau. The castle is very well preserved.

The Würtemberg Plateau is very rich in historical culture. The Bavarian Empire was founded from 730 to 1071 by the Emperor Frederick II, who expanded it into three kingdoms: Bavaria (the capital), Saxony (the most populous) and Lower Saxony (the least). The city of Munich was founded as a provincial capital in 736, followed in the years immediately preceding by Baden, Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria – the capital. In 1634, the first official German city was founded; the city officially became Bavaria in 1861.

In the 19th century, the city was largely left in the state of Bavaria by the Hapsburgs, when they passed on the German crown to the Grand Duke Wilhelm II.

The castle has been so cared for and which the royal family has owned and operated for centuries
